Merry Christmas!

Liam wants to wish you all a very merry Christmas! And tell you he's lost another tooth! He's looking very snaggly with only one permanent replacing the 5 he's lost so far this year.

We bucked tradition this year and instead of presents we gifted each other our presence.

We took off with the kids to our favorite destination, the mountains, to experience some firsts: tubing, skiing, and snowboarding!

The kids have enjoyed it so much and wish we had done this years ago.

Even  though Liam hates to travel (we laid him across Mimi's lap for half the car trip) and dislikes change, he's done really well.

We got to cut down our very first real Christmas tree!

We are ridiculously grateful for the blessings we have been given this year.  It is not easy traveling with a significantly disabled young one: sleep is minimal, diaper rashes from long car trips, vomiting when he's nervous, afraid he feels left out when we take off to do the things he can't...but no matter the trouble, Liam's worth the trouble and we are grateful for every family moment when our kids are always headed in different directions these days. It's tough to find time to get us all together in one place and with Rylie transferring colleges to one quite some distance from us this next year we are cherishing and enjoying this Christmas. Much love from our family to yours.  ❤️

Happy Holidays

We hope your Christmas was jolly.

And bright!

And you were able to spend it with the ones you love.

We hope you were able to be goofy (we walked around downtown in our onsies).

And you got something you really wanted.

But most importantly we hope you know about the little babe who came so long ago, so we could learn how to truly live, giving us the real reason that we celebrated this Christmas season.

Christmas Goodies

New year, new goals: Post more than once every two weeks.

Christmas was amazing. It went too fast, as usual, but we eeked out every last bit of the day that we could.

Liam got a new swing:

It's large enough that he has a lot of growing room. The big kids can actually swing in this thing. It goes up to 150 lbs!

A laughing donkey:

This came from Hallmark and he doesn't have to press anything. He can just touch his hand over the belly and it giggles. It's perfect for special needs kids!

A remote control car:
Another good one from FP it is a large car that he just has to touch the ball on the roof and it will go.

A singing Elmo:
Liam loves Elmo and once we get this switch adapted he will be able to play with it by himself. For now he just tries to hug it.

And some clothes and other goodies including an iTunes gift card for fun new apps!

But Liam's favorite toy has been the donkey. He absolutely loves hearing this thing giggle.

Happy Christmas!

I can't believe it's our fourth one with Liam already! Each year it gets better and a bit easier to deal with things however the Christmas four years ago is never far from my mind each time the holiday season comes around.

I am forever grateful for how far we've come, but I'll never, ever forget where it started.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Love these amazing kids of mine!

A late Christmas snow!

Maybe it's because we don't get snow very often here in eastern NC that when we do it seems even more beautiful than I remember it growing up in the midwest.

We were all very excited to wake up today to a gorgeous dusting of snow and then enjoyed a trip all over town before people got out in it.

Our 300 year old town makes for some beautiful photos when it snows.

And, lucky us, it continued to snow all day!
